Hi there, I’m Mackenzie! At 14 I was diagnosed with severe Scoliosis and spent two years in a full back brace 16 hours a day, limiting my ability to stay active. Competing in speed swimming helped in strengthening my core muscles which aided in pain management and kept me active. My love for swimming led me to work as a lifeguard where I have instructed group aqua, and fitness classes. My dedication to health grew even more when I moved to Kelowna for university and gained freshman fifteen which led me to find confidence in the gym. I am constantly looking for ways to grow and that is why I decided to get my personal training certification through ISSA and continue to take specialization courses such as nutrition and online coaching through them today.
